Commercial Pattern Fill-in #1:

This fill-in is inspired by the commercial pattern Simplicity 5097.

Notice the pattern piece that drapes over the shoulder on the green dress. You can use our adaptation of this pattern piece (pattern graph given below) to create a filler piece for a spaghetti strap/strapless dress. You will have the girl put her dress on, then drape the filler piece over her shoulder, adjust the filler piece as needed (cut, gather, ease, etc.), and pin into place at front and back, then hand sew in place. Fasten at the top back with a button and loop, or a hook and eye.

Here is the pattern graph you can use to create the filler piece. (1 square = 1"). Note that additional material has been added to the top and bottom to allow for fitting - you can cut any excess off after you've fitted the piece to the girl and the dress.
