"Glamming Up" a Thrift Store Dress
| Sometimes you find a dress at a great price that's OK - but needs a little extra something. The following pale green dress had some things going for it: it was modest; it had a pretty overskirt split in the front, and best of all, it only cost $8. But the ribbon trim and rosettes were a little outdated, and overall the dress just needed more personality. | |

Giving the dress more personality was quick and easy to do. The first step was to remove the white ribbon trim.
The next step was to add a different trim. The possibilities are endless; the following three examples may give you some ideas. (All of the trims shown in the examples were purchased at my local JoAnn's sewing store. Each trim cost $5, making the cost of the "glammed up" dress only $13!) |
